Born in the early 1950″s. Over a lifetime working on creative projects from large to small.  For a long period never thinking any of it might be art to others.

Designing and self building, with Rick’s wife of that time, a residential home complete with a 15 ft deep pond.  That was back in the late 70’s. That project was truly a labor of love.  Lots of blood, sweat, and tears.

At another property, another phase of life, building functional and natural looking waterfalls and small Koi Ponds. Large projects with large materials.  Moving and placing boulders that weighed hundreds of pounds.

When not working on a large project, finding pleasure and relaxation in small mixed media art, website construction, traveling the outdoors, and photography.

Dabbling in sculptures, painting, drawing, colored pencil, stained glass, tile, mosaics, plaster, natural stone, composites, woodworking, metalworking, photography, and re-purposing.

With a huge love of the outdoors many pieces reflect nature to some degree.  Or from a location, that was part of traveling.  As pieces are created, sold, or given to friends or clients, the hope is to keep records going forward.  That is basically what this site is all about.

Inspiration and basic raw materials are often due to Marilyn’s influence (Rick’s wife). Marilyn has collected odd and unusual objects at Estate Sales, Antique Flea Markets, and Garage Sales for decades. Marilyn is often the inspiration or at least the supplier of raw materials.  Both Rick and Marilyn have been sharing life, traveling, buying, creating, and selling together since 2000.

Pieces are often artist signed as R BEACH and include the Year.

Projects not even considered art, may be more of a DIY necessity.

Comfortable and mostly self educated working with concrete, tile, glass, wood, welding & metal, and more.  A years experience during high school, working 8 hour days after school, and a whole summer, in a metal machine shop.  Certainly helped when it comes to welding and working with metal materials.

Formally trained in Telecommunications Systems Electronics.  Troubleshooting and making repairs down to the component level.

Rick had a lifetime career spanning Electronics, Telecommunications Technician, Engineer, and Engineering Manager.  This encompassed a wide variety of experiences in Voice & Data transport.  Installing, Repairing, Engineering, and managing, voice and data services over copper, carrier systems, Fiber Optics, Broadband, Modems, Routers, and Microwave systems.

With the Telecommunications Technical background, and eventually morphing into management.  Rick managed an Engineering group that covered Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.  With that came a technical expertise in a complex database system that tracked use of all components of the telecommunications networks.

After retiring from a major Telecommunications Company.  Interests moved in the direction of the Internet, programming, website building, and more time for personal creations.

Rick Founded a Start-up eCommerce retail website.  Operated that for several years with the help of his son, Dustin.  With that venture, came experiences in obtaining business licenses,  the Trademark process,  and knowledge of various coding requirements for website functionality.   A few years later the Trademark, Domain name, and various instances of its associated social media were sold.

Once again retirement was entered.

Some people can really retire.  Others need something to do.

Currently, busy work is, purchasing Domain names for resale.  Along with that came a further interest in learning WordPress for building webpages and structures, to present some of those Domain Names as viable websites.

Knowing enough HTML code, as well as WordPress….. enough to be dangerous anyway…..life kind of morphed into building and maintaining websites.  At least some that run on the WordPress platform.  Education on this subject continues.

The future seems to be free lance type work or consultation.  With an urge to possibly offer personalized training.  Especially to novice WordPress users just starting out.
