The ABOUT page should be automatically created when you loaded WordPress, and you selected your THEME.
In most cases you will want to keep the ABOUT Page, but you need to EDIT the PAGE and add your own text
DASHBOARD>PAGES>ALL PAGES
Find the ABOUT Page in the list, hover your cursor over it, then click EDIT.
If the ABOUT Page doesn’t exist you will have to do an ADD NEW.
See PAGE – ADD NEW.
The EDIT PAGE Screen should open.
Don’t change the TITLE field, but do go into the body of the PAGE and remove the generic WordPress generated text.
Add your own new text. Something about yourself, your site, your Blog, your Business, or your subject.
Find the blue UPDATE Button over on the right column. Click that to save your changes.
Once it has updated, on the EDIT screen just above the TITLE field you should see the words and a link appear Page updated. View Page
Clicking the View Page link, in the EDIT PAGE screen, will take you to an active view of the PAGE you are working on.
